When people compliment on how great you look in the dress, farmers live a miserable scantily clad lives. When your family enjoys the lavish dinner you prepared, poor farmers can’t even afford basic meal twice a day. While few of you will be eating soup to recover your health, most of the farmers will lay sick in beds due to the effects of pesticides they used to save the crops for you. While you will be chanting the New Year’s Countdown, Over 10,000 farmers in India will commit suicide due their burden of loans.

Today, We will show you with ways with which you can support your dear farmers

Connect with them

You may not be able to teach them much, but maybe you can suggest them on how to solve their problems from your own experience, show them how they can manage financially. Maybe your small suggestion can save a life. Take your kids to the village too; it will be a different experience all together. You and your kids will definitely explore a new culture. Support their families

The biggest support to a farmer is his family. They live a very close life, every farmers depends upon his family while cultivating, so they involve their kids in farming too, depriving them from basic education. You can support them by paying his one child’s education, which will cost you as low as Re. 1 per day or you can give them your old books, which will help his kid learn well. You can also donate your clothes, shoes or other usable stuff to their families.

Support them Financially:

The easiest and the most fruitful way to support the farmers, is to support them financially. We are not asking give you them a huge chunk of money, but a mere Rs. 1000, can get them safety equipment which they can use while cultivating. A few hundred rupees from your side can bring a significant change in their lives.

Pay Off their Loans

Do You Know, according to NCRB; at least 270,940 Indian farmers have taken their lives since 1995. This occurred at an annual average of 14,462 in six years, from 1995 to 2000, and at a yearly average of 16,743 in 11 years between 2001 and 2011. This means around 46 farmers’ suicides each day, on average, or nearly one every half-hour since 2001. Farmers in India commit suicide due to the burden of loans on their heads because of repeated crop failures. What you can do is, form a group and donate to an NGO who can support a farmer for you.

Spread The Word:

Spread the word to your family and friends and on how they can support the farmers. This will benefit the farmers a lot. Encouraging your friends to switch to organic products will be a great help to them. If each one of your friend and each one of their friends switch to organic lifestyle, a whole new motivation will drive into the farmers. More farmers will start-up with organic farming seeing the rising demand in the market. Share this blog on Facebook and twitter and spread the word that you support farmers.

Everything You Should Know About Recycled Clothing

Recycled Clothing

We know you wonder what recycled clothing offered by Do U Speak Green is? Is it a resold garment? Or does it contain second quality material? NO! It is the same PET bottle, which once quenched your thirst on that hot day.

Yes! It is true; these special garments which we make, are made from the unique process of using the fibers sourced from recycled plastic (PET) bottles with a mixture of Recycled Organic Cotton waste, certified by Global recycled Standard (GRS). This is called . These bottles are refined and purified, chopped down and processed into spun fiber strands. These strands are then knitted or woven into fabric which makes our T-shirts.

These fibers were formerly known as EcoSpun fibers. They have a variety of characteristics; warm, durable, weather resistant, lightweight and comfortable and they are very, very soft to the touch. EcoSpun fibers can also be blended with other fibers, such as wool, cotton and tencel, for enhanced qualities.

The second question, which arises, is “What is the Benefit!” We are still using plastic, which should be banned. Yes! Your question is correct, but the problem is plastic needs about 450 years just to start decomposing. Then, it takes another 50-80 years to decompose completely. That means the first ever plastic which was made has not yet decomposed, it is there somewhere wandering on our planet.bag design 4

Do you know that the production of polyester fibers accounts for about 40-45% of total global annual fiber production?  About 65-70 percent of global polyester production is used for textiles, of which more than 65 percent is produced in China. The majority of the remaining 25-30 percent is used in the manufacture of PET beverage bottles.

The solution is EcoSpun recycled clothing. This miraculous process has the capacity to keep almost 3 billion plastic PET bottles out of the world’s landfills each year, saving over 1/2 million barrels of oil and eliminating 400,000 tons of harmful air emissions which contribute to acid rain, global warming and smog. The amount of petroleum saved by using post-consumer bottles instead of virgin materials in the manufacturing process annually is enough to supply power to over 100 villages in India for an entire year!

You can also contribute towards PCR just by selling your old PET bottles or food containers instead of throwing them away. Who knows one old bottle you sell, Goes into a t-shirt which someone might wear or Saves a piece of land on which a tree grows to save us from global warming and also, You save the energy which may lighten up a student’s desk who will contribute back to the world. Think what might happen before throwing that coke bottle away. Your one step just might save the world!
